2025-06-05net: ti: icssg-prueth: Fix swapped TX stats for MII interfaces.Meghana Malladi
In MII mode, Tx lines are swapped for port0 and port1, which means Tx port0 receives data from PRU1 and the Tx port1 receives data from PRU0. This is an expected hardware behavior and reading the Tx stats needs to be handled accordingly in the driver. Update the driver to read Tx stats from the PRU1 for port0 and PRU0 for port1. 2025-04-28net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add ICSSG FW StatsMD Danish Anwar
The ICSSG firmware maintains set of stats called PA_STATS. Currently the driver only dumps 4 stats. Add support for dumping more stats. The offset for different stats are defined as MACROs in icssg_switch_map.h file. All the offsets are for Slice0. Slice1 offsets are slice0 + 4. The offset calculation is taken care while reading the stats in emac_update_hardware_stats(). The statistics are documented in Documentation/networking/device_drivers/icssg_prueth.rst Reviewed-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: MD Danish Anwar <danishanwar@ti.com> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250424095316.2643573-1-danishanwar@ti.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2025-03-20net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add lock to statsMD Danish Anwar
Currently the API emac_update_hardware_stats() reads different ICSSG stats without any lock protection. This API gets called by .ndo_get_stats64() which is only under RCU protection and nothing else. Add lock to this API so that the reading of statistics happens during lock. 2024-09-09net: ti: icssg-prueth: Make pa_stats optionalMD Danish Anwar
pa_stats is optional in dt bindings, make it optional in driver as well. Currently if pa_stats syscon regmap is not found driver returns -ENODEV. Fix this by not returning an error in case pa_stats is not found and continue generating ethtool stats without pa_stats. 2024-08-26net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add support for PA StatsMD Danish Anwar
Add support for dumping PA stats registers via ethtool. Firmware maintained stats are stored at PA Stats registers. Also modify emac_get_strings() API to use ethtool_puts(). This commit also maintains consistency between miig_stats and pa_stats by - renaming the array icssg_all_stats to icssg_all_miig_stats - renaming the structure icssg_stats to icssg_miig_stats - renaming ICSSG_STATS() to ICSSG_MIIG_STATS() - changing order of stats related data structures and arrays so that data structures of a certain stats type is clubbed together. 2024-07-15net: ti: icssg-prueth: Split out common object into moduleMD Danish Anwar
icssg_prueth.c and icssg_prueth_sr1.c drivers use multiple common .c files. These common objects are getting added to multiple modules. As a result when both drivers are enabled in .config, below warning is seen. drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_common.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_classifier.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_config.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_mii_cfg.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_stats.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 drivers/net/ethernet/ti/Makefile: icssg/icssg_ethtool.o is added to multiple modules: icssg-prueth icssg-prueth-sr1 Fix this by building a new module (icssg.o) for all the common objects. Both the driver can then depend on this common module. Some APIs being exported have emac_ as the prefix which may result into confusion with other existing APIs with emac_ prefix, to avoid confusion, rename the APIs being exported with emac_ to icssg_ prefix. This also fixes below error seen when both drivers are built. ERROR: modpost: "icssg_queue_pop" [drivers/net/ethernet/ti/icssg-prueth-sr1.ko] undefined! ERROR: modpost: "icssg_queue_push" [drivers/net/ethernet/ti/icssg-prueth-sr1.ko] undefined! 2023-10-13net: ti: icssg-prueth: Fix tx_total_bytes countMD Danish Anwar
ICSSG HW stats on TX side considers 8 preamble bytes as data bytes. Due to this the tx_bytes of ICSSG interface doesn't match the rx_bytes of the link partner. There is no public errata available yet. As a workaround to fix this, decrease tx_bytes by 8 bytes for every tx frame. 2023-08-02net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add ICSSG StatsMD Danish Anwar
Add icssg_stats.c to help dump, icssg related driver statistics. ICSSG has hardware registers for providing statistics like total rx bytes, total tx bytes, etc. These registers are of 32 bits and hence in case of 1G link, they overflows in around 32 seconds. The behaviour of these registers is such that they don't roll back to 0 after overflow but rather stay at UINT_MAX. These registers support a feature where the value written to them is subtracted from the register. This feature can be utilized to fix the overflowing of stats. This solution uses a Workqueues based solution where a function gets called before the registers overflow (every 25 seconds in 1G link, 25000 seconds in 100M link), this function saves the register values in local variables and writes the last read value to the register. So any update during the read will be taken care of. Signed-off-by: MD Danish Anwar <danishanwar@ti.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
