2025-04-05 | treewide: Switch/rename to timer_delete[_sync]() | Thomas Gleixner
timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree over and remove the historical wrapper inlines. Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@kernel.org>

'struct pci_error_handlers' are not modified in these drivers. Constifying these structures moves some data to a read-only section, so increase overall security, especially when the structure holds some function pointers. On a x86_64, with allmodconfig, as an example: Before: ====== text data bss dec hex filename 39049 6429 112 45590 b216 drivers/scsi/aacraid/linit.o After: ===== text data bss dec hex filename 39113 6365 112 45590 b216 drivers/scsi/aacraid/linit.o Signed-off-by: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/efdec8425981e10fc398fa2ac599c9c45d930561.1737318548.git.christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr Signed-off-by: Martin K. 2022-01-10 | scsi: efct: Remove useless DMA-32 fallback configuration | Christophe JAILLET
As stated in [1], dma_set_mask() with a 64-bit mask never fails if dev->dma_mask is non-NULL. So, if it fails, the 32 bits case will also fail for the same reason. Simplify code and remove some dead code accordingly. While at it, return the error code returned by dma_set_mask_and_coherent() instead of -1. 2021-09-28 | scsi: elx: efct: Switch from 'pci_' to 'dma_' API | Christophe JAILLET
The wrappers in include/linux/pci-dma-compat.h should go away. The patch has been generated with the coccinelle script below. It has been hand modified to use 'dma_set_mask_and_coherent()' instead of 'pci_set_dma_mask()/pci_set_consistent_dma_mask()' when applicable. This is less verbose. It has been compile tested. @@ @@ - PCI_DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL + DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL @@ @@ - PCI_DMA_TODEVICE + DMA_TO_DEVICE @@ @@ - PCI_DMA_FROMDEVICE + DMA_FROM_DEVICE @@ @@ - PCI_DMA_NONE + DMA_NONE @@ expression e1, e2, e3; @@ - pci_alloc_consistent(e1, e2, e3) + dma_alloc_coherent(&e1->dev, e2, e3, GFP_) @@ expression e1, e2, e3; @@ - pci_zalloc_consistent(e1, e2, e3) + dma_alloc_coherent(&e1->dev, e2, e3, GFP_) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_free_consistent(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_free_coherent(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_map_single(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_map_single(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_unmap_single(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_unmap_single(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4, e5; @@ - pci_map_page(e1, e2, e3, e4, e5) + dma_map_page(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4, e5) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_unmap_page(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_unmap_page(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_map_sg(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_map_sg(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_unmap_sg(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_unmap_sg(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_dma_sync_single_for_cpu(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_sync_single_for_cpu(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_dma_sync_single_for_device(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_sync_single_for_device(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_dma_sync_sg_for_cpu(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_sync_sg_for_cpu(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2, e3, e4; @@ - pci_dma_sync_sg_for_device(e1, e2, e3, e4) + dma_sync_sg_for_device(&e1->dev, e2, e3, e4) @@ expression e1, e2; @@ - pci_dma_mapping_error(e1, e2) + dma_mapping_error(&e1->dev, e2) @@ expression e1, e2; @@ - pci_set_dma_mask(e1, e2) + dma_set_mask(&e1->dev, e2) @@ expression e1, e2; @@ - pci_set_consistent_dma_mask(e1, e2) + dma_set_coherent_mask(&e1->dev, e2) Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/3899b1ed4abac581c30845d82f33ec6df8b38976.1629633207.git.christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr Signed-off-by: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr> Signed-off-by: Martin K.
