2025-03-15selftests/bpf: Test sleepable global subprogs in atomic contextsKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi
Add tests for rejecting sleepable and accepting non-sleepable global function calls in atomic contexts. For spin locks, we still reject all global function calls. Once resilient spin locks land, we will carefully lift in cases where we deem it safe. 2024-12-04selftests/bpf: Expand coverage of preempt tests to sleepable kfuncKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi
For preemption-related kfuncs, we don't test their interaction with sleepable kfuncs (we do test helpers) even though the verifier has code to protect against such a pattern. Expand coverage of the selftest to include this case. 2024-12-04bpf: Improve verifier log for resource leak on exitKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi
The verifier log when leaking resources on BPF_EXIT may be a bit confusing, as it's a problem only when finally existing from the main prog, not from any of the subprogs. Hence, update the verifier error string and the corresponding selftests matching on it. 2024-11-03bpf: Unify resource leak checksKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi
There are similar checks for covering locks, references, RCU read sections and preempt_disable sections in 3 places in the verifer, i.e. for tail calls, bpf_ld_[abs, ind], and exit path (for BPF_EXIT and bpf_throw). Unify all of these into a common check_resource_leak function to avoid code duplication. Also update the error strings in selftests to the new ones in the same change to ensure clean bisection. 2024-04-25bpf: Add bpf_guard_preempt() convenience macroAlexei Starovoitov
Add bpf_guard_preempt() macro that uses newly introduced bpf_preempt_disable/enable() kfuncs to guard a critical section. 2024-04-24selftests/bpf: Add tests for preempt kfuncsKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi
Add tests for nested cases, nested count preservation upon different subprog calls that disable/enable preemption, and test sleepable helper call in non-preemptible regions. 182/1 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_1:OK 182/2 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_2:OK 182/3 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_3:OK 182/4 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_3_minus_2:OK 182/5 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_1_subprog:OK 182/6 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_2_subprog:OK 182/7 preempt_lock/preempt_lock_missing_2_minus_1_subprog:OK 182/8 preempt_lock/preempt_balance:OK 182/9 preempt_lock/preempt_balance_subprog_test:OK 182/10 preempt_lock/preempt_global_subprog_test:OK 182/11 preempt_lock/preempt_sleepable_helper:OK 182 preempt_lock:OK Summary: 1/11 PASSED, 0 SKIPPED, 0 FAILED Signed-off-by: Kumar Kartikeya Dwivedi <memxor@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240424031315.2757363-3-memxor@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Alexei Starovoitov <ast@kernel.org>
