2016-04-10ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod: fix _idle() hwmod state sanity check sequenceSuman Anna
The omap_hwmod _enable() function can return success without setting the hwmod state to _HWMOD_STATE_ENABLED for IPs with reset lines when all of the reset lines are asserted. The omap_hwmod _idle() function also performs a similar check, but after checking for the hwmod state first. This triggers the WARN when pm_runtime_get and pm_runtime_put are invoked on IPs with all reset lines asserted. Reverse the checks for hwmod state and reset lines status to fix this. 2016-04-10ARM: DRA7: hwmod: Add data for GPTimer 12Suman Anna
Add the hwmod data for GPTimer 12. GPTimer 12 is present in WKUPAON power domain and is clocked from a secure 32K clock. GPTimer 12 serves as a secure timer on HS devices, but is available for kernel on regular GP devices. The hwmod link is registered only on GP devices. The hwmod data also reused the existing timer class instead of reintroducing the identical dra7xx_timer_secure_sysc class which was dropped in commit edec17863362 ("ARM: DRA7: hwmod: Fix the hwmod class for GPTimer4"). RTC IP have kicker feature which prevents spurious writes to its registers. In order to write into any of the RTC registers, KICK values has to be written to KICK registers. Also, RTC busy flag needs to be polled for non-TC registers as well, without which update is not proper and confirmed it by testing on DRA7-evm. Introduce omap_hwmod_rtc_unlock/lock functions, which writes into these KICK registers inorder to lock and unlock RTC registers. Errata Title: i874: TIMER5/6/7/8 interrupts not propagated Description: When TIMER5, TIMER6, TIMER7, or TIMER8 clocks are enabled (CM_IPU_TIMER5/6/7/8_CLKCTRL[0:1]MODULEMODE=0x2:ENABLE) and the CD-IPU is in HW_AUTO mode (CM_IPU_CLKSTCTRL[0:1]CLKTRCTRL=0x3:HW_AUTO) the corresponding TIMER will continue counting, but enabled interrupts will not be propagated to the destinations (MPU, DSP, etc) in the SoC until the TIMER registers are accessed from the CPUs (MPU, DSP etc.). This can result in missed timer interrupts. Workaround: In order for TIMER5/6/7/8 interrupts to be propagated and serviced correctly the CD_IPU domain should be set to SW_WKUP mode (CM_IPU_CLKSTCTRL[0:1]CLKTRCTRL=0x2:SW_WKUP). The above workaround is achieved by switching the IPU clockdomain flags from HWSUP_SWSUP to SWSUP only. 2016-04-09device property: don't bother the drivers with struct property_setHeikki Krogerus
Since device_add_property_set() now always takes a copy of the property_set, and also since the fwnode type is always hard coded to be FWNODE_PDATA, there is no need for the drivers to deliver the entire struct property_set. The function can just create the instance of it on its own and bind the properties from the drivers to it on the spot. This renames device_add_property_set() to device_add_properties(). The function now takes struct property_entry as its parameter instead of struct property_set. 2016-04-08ARM: dts: dra7: Correct clock tree for sys_32k_ckKeerthy
This is w.r.t J6/J6eco: 32clk is pseudo (erratum i856) - clock source. Errata i856 for the AM572x (DRA7xx) points out that the 32.768KHz external crystal is not enabled at power up. Instead the CPU falls back to using an emulation for the 32KHz clock which is SYSCLK1/610. SYSCLK1 is usually 20MHz on boards so far (which gives an emulated frequency of 32.786KHz) Modelling the same in device tree. When commit 06c2d368fc36 ("ARM: OMAP: DRA7: Make use of omap_revision information for soc_is* calls") introduced SoC check using omap_revision, it missed providing DRA7 as class for initializing the omap_version variable. Without doing this, soc_is_dra7xx() will fail and as a result, omap4_pm_init_early never initializes the dra7 erratum for CPU power state. This causes the suspend path to fail on DRA7 devices. 2016-04-07ARM: 8550/1: protect idiv patching against undefined gcc behaviorNicolas Pitre
It was reported that a kernel with CONFIG_ARM_PATCH_IDIV=y stopped booting when compiled with the upcoming gcc 6. Turns out that turning a function address into a writable array is undefined and gcc 6 decided it was OK to omit the store to the first word of the function while still preserving the store to the second word. Even though gcc 6 is now fixed to behave more coherently, it is a mystery that gcc 4 and gcc 5 actually produce wanted code in the kernel. And in fact the reduced test case to illustrate the issue does indeed break with gcc < 6 as well. In any case, let's guard the kernel against undefined compiler behavior by hiding the nature of the array location as suggested by gcc developers. The amount of available memory is clearly a board-specific value, so the core per-soc dtsi should not define a default of any sort. Therefore move the memory-nodes to the two board files. Also fix the amount of memory on Kylin (512MB instead of 1GB). Pinky boards don't have the hotplug pin connected. So remove the hotplug pinctrl setting and enable the force-hpd option, to allow them to find the display too. While on speedy boards, the hotplug pin is connected, judging by comments in a chromeos change it seems the "panels HPD voltage is too low to be detected", so it also needs the forced hotplug, as we of course also know that a display is connected. 2016-04-06arm64: KVM: unregister notifiers in hyp mode teardown pathSudeep Holla
Commit 1e947bad0b63 ("arm64: KVM: Skip HYP setup when already running in HYP") re-organized the hyp init code and ended up leaving the CPU hotplug and PM notifier even if hyp mode initialization fails. Since KVM is not yet supported with ACPI, the above mentioned commit breaks CPU hotplug in ACPI boot. This patch fixes teardown_hyp_mode to properly unregister both CPU hotplug and PM notifiers in the teardown path.
