2023-12-13powerpc/powernv: Add a null pointer check to scom_debug_init_one()Kunwu Chan
kasprintf() returns a pointer to dynamically allocated memory which can be NULL upon failure. Add a null pointer check, and release 'ent' to avoid memory leaks. 2023-08-23powerpc/powernv: fix debugfs_create_dir() error checkingImmad Mir
The debugfs_create_dir returns ERR_PTR incase of an error and the correct way of checking it by using the IS_ERR inline function, and not the simple null comparision. This patch fixes this. 2021-08-13powerpc: rename powerpc_debugfs_root to arch_debugfs_dirAneesh Kumar K.V
No functional change in this patch. arch_debugfs_dir is the generic kernel name declared in linux/debugfs.h for arch-specific debugfs directory. Architectures like x86/s390 already use the name. Rename powerpc specific powerpc_debugfs_root to arch_debugfs_dir. 2019-08-05powerpc/powernv: Get rid of old scom_controller abstractionAndrew Donnellan
Once upon a time, the SCOM access code was used by the WSP platform as well as powernv. Thus it made sense to have a generic SCOM access interface to abstract between different platforms. Now that it's just powernv, with no other platforms currently on the horizon, let's rip out scom_controller and make everything much simpler and more direct. While we're here, fix up the comment block at the top. 2019-08-05powerpc/powernv: Move SCOM access code into powernv platformAndrew Donnellan
The powernv platform is the only one that directly accesses SCOMs. Move the support code to platforms/powernv, and get rid of the PPC_SCOM Kconfig option, as SCOM support is always selected when compiling for powernv. This also means that the Kconfig item for CONFIG_SCOM_DEBUGFS will show up in menuconfig in the platform menu, rather than at the root, which is a much better location. 2017-08-23powerpc: Convert to using %pOF instead of full_nameRob Herring

2017-03-28powerpc/powernv: Fix XSCOM address mangling for form 1 indirectMichael Neuling
POWER9 adds form 1 scoms. The form of the indirection is specified in the top nibble of the scom address. Currently we do some (ugly) bit mangling so that we can fit a 64 bit scom address into the debugfs interface. The current code only shifts the top bit (indirect bit). This patch changes it to shift the whole top nibble so that the form of the indirection is also shifted. This patch is backwards compatible with older scoms. (This change isn't required in the arch/powerpc/platforms/powernv/opal-prd.c scom interface as it passes the whole 64bit scom address without any bit mangling) Signed-off-by: Michael Neuling <mikey@neuling.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2015-12-17powerpc/powernv: remove FW_FEATURE_OPALv3 and just use FW_FEATURE_OPALStewart Smith
Long ago, only in the lab, there was OPALv1 and OPALv2. Now there is just OPALv3, with nobody ever expecting anything on pre-OPALv3 to be cared about or supported by mainline kernels. So, let's remove FW_FEATURE_OPALv3 and instead use FW_FEATURE_OPAL exclusively. Signed-off-by: Stewart Smith <stewart@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2014-07-28powerpc/powernv: Switch powernv drivers to use machine_xxx_initcall()Michael Ellerman
A lot of the code in platforms/powernv is using non-machine initcalls. That means if a kernel built with powernv support runs on another platform, for example pseries, the initcalls will still run. That is usually OK, because the initcalls will check for something in the device tree or elsewhere before doing anything, so on other platforms they will usually just return. But it's fishy for powernv code to be running on other platforms, so switch them all to be machine initcalls. If we want any of them to run on other platforms in future they should move to sysdev. 2014-02-28powerpc/powernv: Fix indirect XSCOM unmanglingBenjamin Herrenschmidt

2013-11-06powerpc/powernv: Add support for indirect XSCOM via debugfsBenjamin Herrenschmidt
Indirect XSCOM addresses normally have the top bit set (of the 64-bit address). This doesn't work via the normal debugfs interface, so we use a different encoding, which we need to convert before calling OPAL. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2013-11-06powerpc/scom: Enable 64-bit addressesBenjamin Herrenschmidt
