The adp5589 seems to have the same behavior as similar devices as
explained in commit 910a9f5636f5 ("Input: adp5588-keys - get value from
data out when dir is out").
Basically, when the gpio is set as output we need to get the value from
ADP5589_GPO_DATA_OUT_A register instead of ADP5589_GPI_STATUS_A.

We register a devm action to call adp5589_clear_config() and then pass
the i2c client as argument so that we can call i2c_get_clientdata() in
order to get our device object. However, i2c_set_clientdata() is only
being set at the end of the probe function which means that we'll get a
NULL pointer dereference in case the probe function fails early.

After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new()
call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then
03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert
back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from
struct i2c_driver.

SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() is deprecated as it requires explicit protection
against unused function warnings. The new combination of pm_sleep_ptr()
and DEFINE_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() allows the compiler to see the functions,
thus suppressing the warning, but still allowing the unused code to be
removed. Thus also drop the __maybe_unused markings.

If device is set up as a wakeup source, I2C core configures the interrupt
line as wake IRQ and PM core automatically configures it for waking up the
system on system suspend transition, so we do not have to explicitly call
enable_irq_wake() and disable_irq_wake() in suspend/resume.

We should not be configuring the controller as a wakeup source in the
driver, but rather rely on I2C core to mark it as such by either
instantiating as I2C_CLIENT_WAKEUP or specifying "wakeup-source" device
property.

The driver clears the general configuration register during the remove()
hook. This should also be done in case the driver exits on error.
This change move the clear of that register to the
devm_add_action_or_reset() hook.

This change makes use of the devm_gpiochip_add_data() function. With this
the gpiochip_remove() function can be removed, and the
adp5589_gpio_remove() function as well.
The kpad->export_gpio variable is also redundant now, and has been removed.

This is currently just dead code. It's from around a time when
platform-data was used, and a board could hook it's own special callback
for setup/teardown, and a private object (via 'context').
This change removes it, as there are no more users in mainline for this.

This change makes use of the devm_input_allocate_device() function, which
gets rid of the input_free_device() and input_unregister_device() calls.
When a device is allocated via input_allocate_device(), the
input_register_device() call will also be device-managed, so there is no
longer need to manually call unregister.
Also, the irq is allocated with the devm_request_threaded_irq(), so with
these two changes, the adp5589_keypad_remove() function is no longer
needed.
This cleans up the error & exit paths.

This removes the need to manually free the kpad object and cleans up some
exit/error paths. The error path cleanup should reduce the risk of any
memory leaks with this object.

On some platforms the adp5589 is used in GPIO only mode. On these platforms
we do not want to register a input device, so make that optional and only
create the input device if a keymap is supplied.

While not strictly required for normal operation setting the GPIO parent
device allows the GPIO framework to generate more verbose debug output for
the GPIO chip.

The adp5589 has row 5, don't skip it when creating the GPIO mapping.
Otherwise the pin gets reserved as used and it is not possible to use it as
a GPIO.

The event mask was specified as 0xF (4 bits) when in reality is 0x1F (5
bits) in order to be capable of representing all FIFO length values from
0 to 16.
This caused a problem: when the keypad reported 16 pending events the
driver took it as 0, and did nothing. This in turn caused the keypad to
re-issue the interrupt over and over again.

The pull mask is created by looping each row (column) and building an
8-bit integer with the configuration. It is written byte-by-byte, when
we reach the end of the rows (columns) or we're at the 3rd line (which
finishes the first byte, since each pin is 2bits on the mask).
However, this only works if we have at most 8 pins (2 bytes), which is
not the case for the ADP5589. So, write the byte at each boundary (every
4 rows/columns).

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

The ADP5585 family keypad decoder and IO expander is similar to the ADP5589,
however it features less IO pins, and lacks hardware assisted key-lock
functionality. Unfortunately the register addresses are different, as well as
the event codes and bit organization within the port related registers.
Move ADP5589 Register defines from the header file into the main source file.
Add new defines while making sure we don't break existing platform_data.
Add register address translation, and turn device specific defines into variables.
Introduce some helper functions and disable functions that doesn't
exist on the added devices.
