2018-02-16mtd: nand: move raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirBoris Brezillon
As part of the process of sharing more code between different NAND based devices, we need to move all raw NAND related code to the raw/ subdirectory. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com>
2017-12-14mtd: nand: provide valid ->data_interface during NAND detectionMiquel Raynal
Right now, the chip->data_interface field is populated in nand_scan_tail(), so after the whole NAND detection has taken place. This is fine because these timings are not yet used by the core so early in the probe process, but the situation is about to change with the introduction of ->exec_op(). Also, by convention, nand_scan_ident() is not supposed to allocate resources, only nand_scan_tail() can, so this prevent us from allocating and initializing the data_interface object in nand_scan_ident(). In order to solve this problem, directly embed a data_interface object in nand_chip so that we don't have to allocate it, and initialize it to ONFI SDR mode 0 at the very beginning of nand_scan_ident(). 2017-08-13mtd: nand: Rename nand.h into rawnand.hBoris Brezillon
We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. 2017-08-02mtd: nand: Declare tBERS, tR and tPROG as u64 to avoid integer overflowBoris Brezillon
All timings in nand_sdr_timings are expressed in picoseconds but some of them may not fit in an u32. 2016-11-07mtd: nand: Add a few more timings to nand_sdr_timingsBoris Brezillon
Add the tR_max, tBERS_max, tPROG_max and tCCS_min timings to the nand_sdr_timings struct. Assign default/safe values for the statically defined timings, and extract them from the ONFI parameter table if the NAND is ONFI compliant. 2016-09-23mtd: nand: Expose data interface for ONFI mode 0Sascha Hauer
The nand layer will need ONFI mode 0 to use it as timing mode before and right after reset. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-09-23mtd: nand: Add function to convert ONFI mode to data_interfaceSascha Hauer
onfi_init_data_interface() initializes a data interface with values from a given ONFI mode. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-09-23mtd: nand: convert ONFI mode into data interfaceSascha Hauer
struct nand_data_interface is the designated type to pass to the NAND drivers to configure the timing. To simplify further patches convert the onfi_sdr_timings array from type struct nand_sdr_timings nand_data_interface. 2016-09-23mtd: nand: timings: Reorder tRR_min def in mode 0Boris Brezillon
In the ONFI spec, the tRR_min entry is defined before the tRST_max one. Reoder the definition to make it easier to review. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2016-09-23mtd: nand: timings: Fix tADL_min for ONFI 4.0 chipsBoris Brezillon
ONFI 4.0 spec defines different values for the tADL_min timing. Since we don't want to have different timings depending on the ONFI version, we just set tADL_min to the maximum value (the one specified in the ONFI 4.0 spec). Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com>
2014-08-19mtd: nand: Use ULL-suffix for big u64 constantGeert Uytterhoeven
drivers/mtd/nand/nand_timings.c:45: warning: integer constant is too large for ‘long’ type [ Editorial note: This is a false warning. Looking at ISO draft N1124 (this is approximately C11, the first PDF I had lying around), section 6.4.4.1 (statement 5): "The type of an integer constant is the first of the corresponding list in which its value can be represented." So this should not be an overflow, and any toolchain that says so (e.g., GCC 4.4) is buggy. -Brian ] Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>
