2025-04-15ixgbe: add E610 functions getting PBA and FW ver infoJedrzej Jagielski
Introduce 2 E610 specific callbacks implementations: -ixgbe_start_hw_e610() which expands the regular .start_hw callback with getting FW version information -ixgbe_read_pba_string_e610() which gets Product Board Assembly string Extend EEPROM ops with new .read_pba_string in order to distinguish generic one and the E610 one. 2024-11-13ixgbe: Break include dependency cycleDiomidis Spinellis
Header ixgbe_type.h includes ixgbe_mbx.h. Also, header ixgbe_mbx.h included ixgbe_type.h, thus introducing a circular dependency. - Remove ixgbe_mbx.h inclusion from ixgbe_type.h. - ixgbe_mbx.h requires the definition of struct ixgbe_mbx_operations so move its definition there. While at it, add missing argument identifier names. - Add required forward structure declarations. - Include ixgbe_mbx.h in the .c files that need it, for the following reasons: ixgbe_sriov.c uses ixgbe_check_for_msg ixgbe_main.c uses ixgbe_init_mbx_params_pf ixgbe_82599.c uses mbx_ops_generic ixgbe_x540.c uses mbx_ops_generic ixgbe_x550.c uses mbx_ops_generic Signed-off-by: Diomidis Spinellis <dds@aueb.gr> Reviewed-by: Jacob Keller <jacob.e.keller@intel.com> Tested-by: Rafal Romanowski <rafal.romanowski@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Nguyen <anthony.l.nguyen@intel.com>

2017-10-09ixgbe: Clear SWFW_SYNC register during initEmil Tantilov
Added clearing of SW resource bits in the SW/FW synchronization register to ixgbe_init_swfw_sync_X540(). Updated ixgbe_acquire_swfw_sync_X540 SW Manageability host interface resource bit error case to match the error handling of the other SW resource bits. 2016-04-25ixgbe: use BIT() macroJacob Keller
Several areas of ixgbe were written before widespread usage of the BIT(n) macro. With the impending release of GCC 6 and its associated new warnings, some usages such as (1 << 31) have been noted within the ixgbe driver source. Fix these wholesale and prevent future issues by simply using BIT macro instead of hand coded bit shifts. Also fix a few shifts that are shifting values into place by using the 'u' prefix to indicate unsigned. It doesn't strictly matter in these cases because we're not shifting by too large a value, but these are all unsigned values and should be indicated as such. 2016-04-04ixgbe: Place SWFW semaphore in known valid state at probeDon Skidmore
It is possible on some HW that a system reset could occur when we are holding the SWFW semaphore lock. So next time the driver was loaded we would see it incorrectly as locked. 2015-09-23ixgbe: Add I2C bus mux supportMark Rustad

2015-06-09ixgbe: add array of MAC type dependent valuesDon Skidmore
Some of the register addresses and format where unfortunately changed between MAC types. To get around this we add a const u32 *mvals pointer to the ixgbe_hw struct to point to an array of mac-type-dependent values. These can include register offsets, masks, whatever can be in a u32. When the ixgbe_hw struct is initialized, a pointer to the appropriate array must be set. 2015-02-05ixgbe: Cleanup probe to remove redundant attempt to ID PHYDon Skidmore
We always identify the PHY in our reset_hw path anyway so there is no need to do it in get_invariants(). The reason I even noticed this is that for new hardware (X550em) we don't assign some methods until later in probe and calling phy.ops.read_reg could lead to a panic. 2014-12-05ixgbe: Add X550 support function pointersDon Skidmore
This patch extends the function pointer structure to include the new X550 class MAC types. This creates a new file ixgbe_x550.c that contains all of the new methods. Because of similarities to the X540 part in some cases we just use it's methods where they can be used without any modification. These exported functions are now defined in the new ixgbe_x540.h file. 2014-12-05ixgbe: cleanup checksum to allow error resultsDon Skidmore
Currently the shared code checksum calculation function only returns a u16 and cannot return an error code. 2014-12-05ixgbe: Add x550 SW/FW semaphore supportDon Skidmore
The X550 hardware will use more bits in the mask, so change the prototypes to match. This larger mask will require changes in callers which use the higher bits. Likewise since X550 will use different semaphore mask values and will use the lan_id value. So save these values in the ixgbe_phy_info struct. 2014-07-25ixgbe: Correct X540 semaphore errorMark Rustad
In the function ixgbe_get_swfw_sync_semaphore, an incorrect check was treating success as failure and vice-versa. This led to manipulating the IXGBE_SWFW_SYNC register without holding the software semaphore first, which is an error. In addition, if getting the REGSMP bit in the IXGBE_SW_FW_SYNC register timed out, no error code would be returned, making the caller think that it had successfully acquired the lock.
