Commit 21c167aa0ba9 ("net/sched: act_ctinfo: use percpu stats") missed that stats_dscp_set, stats_dscp_error and stats_cpmark_set might be written (and read) locklessly. So far the mirred action has dealt with syntax that handles mirror/redirection for netdev. A matching packet is redirected or mirrored to a target netdev. In this patch we enable mirred to mirror to a tc block as well. IOW, the new syntax looks as follows: ... mirred <ingress | egress> <mirror | redirect> [index INDEX] < <blockid BLOCKID> | <dev <devname>> > Examples of mirroring or redirecting to a tc block: $ tc filter add block 22 protocol ip pref 25 \ flower dst_ip 192.168.0.0/16 action mirred egress mirror blockid 22 $ tc filter add block 22 protocol ip pref 25 \ flower dst_ip 10.10.10.10/32 action mirred egress redirect blockid 22 Co-developed-by: Jamal Hadi Salim <jhs@mojatatu.com> Signed-off-by: Jamal Hadi Salim <jhs@mojatatu.com> Co-developed-by: Pedro Tammela <pctammela@mojatatu.com> Signed-off-by: Pedro Tammela <pctammela@mojatatu.com> Signed-off-by: Victor Nogueira <victor@mojatatu.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2023-11-16net: sched: do not offload flows with a helper in act_ctXin Long
There is no hardware supporting ct helper offload. However, prior to this patch, a flower filter with a helper in the ct action can be successfully set into the HW, for example (eth1 is a bnxt NIC): # tc qdisc add dev eth1 ingress_block 22 ingress # tc filter add block 22 proto ip flower skip_sw ip_proto tcp \ dst_port 21 ct_state -trk action ct helper ipv4-tcp-ftp # tc filter show dev eth1 ingress filter block 22 protocol ip pref 49152 flower chain 0 handle 0x1 eth_type ipv4 ip_proto tcp dst_port 21 ct_state -trk skip_sw in_hw in_hw_count 1 <---- action order 1: ct zone 0 helper ipv4-tcp-ftp pipe index 2 ref 1 bind 1 used_hw_stats delayed This might cause the flower filter not to work as expected in the HW. This patch avoids this problem by simply returning -EOPNOTSUPP in tcf_ct_offload_act_setup() to not allow to offload flows with a helper in act_ct. This patch is to add helper support in act_ct for OVS actions=ct(alg=xxx) offloading, which is corresponding to Commit cae3a2627520 ("openvswitch: Allow attaching helpers to ct action") in OVS kernel part. The difference is when adding TC actions family and proto cannot be got from the filter/match, other than helper name in tb[TCA_CT_HELPER_NAME], we also need to send the family in tb[TCA_CT_HELPER_FAMILY] and the proto in tb[TCA_CT_HELPER_PROTO] to kernel. 2022-10-25act_skbedit: skbedit queue mapping for receive queueAmritha Nambiar
Add support for skbedit queue mapping action on receive side. This is supported only in hardware, so the skip_sw flag is enforced. This enables offloading filters for receive queue selection in the hardware using the skbedit action. Traffic arrives on the Rx queue requested in the skbedit action parameter. A new tc action flag TCA_ACT_FLAGS_AT_INGRESS is introduced to identify the traffic direction the action queue_mapping is requested on during filter addition. This is used to disallow offloading the skbedit queue mapping action on transmit side. 2022-05-11net/sched: act_pedit: really ensure the skb is writablePaolo Abeni
Currently pedit tries to ensure that the accessed skb offset is writable via skb_unclone(). The action potentially allows touching any skb bytes, so it may end-up modifying shared data. The above causes some sporadic MPTCP self-test failures, due to this code: tc -n $ns2 filter add dev ns2eth$i egress \ protocol ip prio 1000 \ handle 42 fw \ action pedit munge offset 148 u8 invert \ pipe csum tcp \ index 100 The above modifies a data byte outside the skb head and the skb is a cloned one, carrying a TCP output packet. This change addresses the issue by keeping track of a rough over-estimate highest skb offset accessed by the action and ensuring such offset is really writable. Note that this may cause performance regressions in some scenarios, but hopefully pedit is not in the critical path. 2021-06-01net/sched: act_vlan: Fix modify to allow 0Boris Sukholitko
Currently vlan modification action checks existence of vlan priority by comparing it to 0. Therefore it is impossible to modify existing vlan tag to have priority 0. For example, the following tc command will change the vlan id but will not affect vlan priority: tc filter add dev eth1 ingress matchall action vlan modify id 300 \ priority 0 pipe mirred egress redirect dev eth2 The incoming packet on eth1: ethertype 802.1Q (0x8100), vlan 200, p 4, ethertype IPv4 will be changed to: ethertype 802.1Q (0x8100), vlan 300, p 4, ethertype IPv4 although the user has intended to have p == 0. The fix is to add tcfv_push_prio_exists flag to struct tcf_vlan_params and rely on it when deciding to set the priority. Implement TCA_VLAN_ACT_POP_ETH and TCA_VLAN_ACT_PUSH_ETH, to respectively pop and push a base Ethernet header at the beginning of a frame. POP_ETH is just a matter of pulling ETH_HLEN bytes. VLAN tags, if any, must be stripped before calling POP_ETH. PUSH_ETH is restricted to skbs with no mac_header, and only the MAC addresses can be configured. The Ethertype is automatically set from skb->protocol. These restrictions ensure that all skb's fields remain consistent, so that this action can't confuse other part of the networking stack (like GSO). 2020-05-01net: qos: introduce a gate control flow actionPo Liu
Introduce a ingress frame gate control flow action. Tc gate action does the work like this: Assume there is a gate allow specified ingress frames can be passed at specific time slot, and be dropped at specific time slot. Tc filter chooses the ingress frames, and tc gate action would specify what slot does these frames can be passed to device and what time slot would be dropped. Tc gate action would provide an entry list to tell how much time gate keep open and how much time gate keep state close. Gate action also assign a start time to tell when the entry list start. Then driver would repeat the gate entry list cyclically. For the software simulation, gate action requires the user assign a time clock type. Below is the setting example in user space. Tc filter a stream source ip address is 192.168.0.20 and gate action own two time slots. One is last 200ms gate open let frame pass another is last 100ms gate close let frames dropped. When the ingress frames have reach total frames over 8000000 bytes, the excessive frames will be dropped in that 200000000ns time slot. > tc qdisc add dev eth0 ingress > tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip \ flower src_ip 192.168.0.20 \ action gate index 2 clockid CLOCK_TAI \ sched-entry open 200000000 -1 8000000 \ sched-entry close 100000000 -1 -1 > tc chain del dev eth0 ingress chain 0 "sched-entry" follow the name taprio style. Gate state is "open"/"close". Follow with period nanosecond. Then next item is internal priority value means which ingress queue should put. "-1" means wildcard. The last value optional specifies the maximum number of MSDU octets that are permitted to pass the gate during the specified time interval. Base-time is not set will be 0 as default, as result start time would be ((N + 1) * cycletime) which is the minimal of future time. Below example shows filtering a stream with destination mac address is 10:00:80:00:00:00 and ip type is ICMP, follow the action gate. The gate action would run with one close time slot which means always keep close. The time cycle is total 200000000ns. The base-time would calculate by: 1357000000000 + (N + 1) * cycletime When the total value is the future time, it will be the start time. The cycletime here would be 200000000ns for this case. > tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip \ flower skip_hw ip_proto icmp dst_mac 10:00:80:00:00:00 \ action gate index 12 base-time 1357000000000 \ sched-entry close 200000000 -1 -1 \ clockid CLOCK_TAI Signed-off-by: Po Liu <Po.Liu@nxp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. For example, consider the following rule on chain 0 that is in_hw, however chain 1 is not_in_hw: $ tc filter add dev ... chain 0 ... \ flower ... action ct pipe action goto chain 1 Packets of a flow offloaded (via nf flow table offload) by the driver hit this rule in hardware, will be marked with the ct metadata action (mark, label, zone) that does the equivalent of the software ct action, and when the packet jumps to hardware chain 1, there would be a miss.
