2025-07-08net: mctp: add gateway routing supportJeremy Kerr
This change allows for gateway routing, where a route table entry may reference a routable endpoint (by network and EID), instead of routing directly to a netdevice. We add support for a RTM_GATEWAY attribute for netlink route updates, with an attribute format of: struct mctp_fq_addr { unsigned int net; mctp_eid_t eid; } - we need the net here to uniquely identify the target EID, as we no longer have the device reference directly (which would provide the net id in the case of direct routes). This makes route lookups recursive, as a route lookup that returns a gateway route must be resolved into a direct route (ie, to a device) eventually. We provide a limit to the route lookups, to prevent infinite loop routing. The route lookup populates a new 'nexthop' field in the dst structure, which now specifies the key for the neighbour table lookup on device output, rather than using the packet destination address directly. 2024-02-22net: mctp: provide a more specific tag allocation ioctlJeremy Kerr
Now that we have net-specific tags, extend the tag allocation ioctls (SIOCMCTPALLOCTAG / SIOCMCTPDROPTAG) to allow a network parameter to be passed to the tag allocation. We also add a local_addr member to the ioc struct, to allow for a future finer-grained tag allocation using local EIDs too. We don't add any specific support for that now though, so require MCTP_ADDR_ANY or MCTP_ADDR_NULL for those at present. The old ioctls will still work, but allocate for the default MCTP net. These are now marked as deprecated in the header. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@codeconstruct.com.au> Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com>
2022-02-09mctp: Add SIOCMCTP{ALLOC,DROP}TAG ioctls for tag controlMatt Johnston
This change adds a couple of new ioctls for mctp sockets: SIOCMCTPALLOCTAG and SIOCMCTPDROPTAG. These ioctls provide facilities for explicit allocation / release of tags, overriding the automatic allocate-on-send/release-on-reply and timeout behaviours. This allows userspace more control over messages that may not fit a simple request/response model. In order to indicate a pre-allocated tag to the sendmsg() syscall, we introduce a new flag to the struct sockaddr_mctp.smctp_tag value: MCTP_TAG_PREALLOC. Additional changes from Jeremy Kerr <jk@codeconstruct.com.au>. 2021-10-26mctp: Implement extended addressingJeremy Kerr
This change allows an extended address struct - struct sockaddr_mctp_ext - to be passed to sendmsg/recvmsg. This allows userspace to specify output ifindex and physical address information (for sendmsg) or receive the input ifindex/physaddr for incoming messages (for recvmsg). This is typically used by userspace for MCTP address discovery and assignment operations. The extended addressing facility is conditional on a new sockopt: MCTP_OPT_ADDR_EXT; userspace must explicitly enable addressing before the kernel will consume/populate the extended address data. Includes a fix for an uninitialised var: Reported-by: kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@codeconstruct.com.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-10-18mctp: Be explicit about struct sockaddr_mctp paddingJeremy Kerr
We currently have some implicit padding in struct sockaddr_mctp. This patch makes this padding explicit, and ensures we have consistent layout on platforms with <32bit alignmnent. 2021-10-18mctp: unify sockaddr_mctp typesJeremy Kerr
Use the more precise __kernel_sa_family_t for smctp_family, to match struct sockaddr. Also, use an unsigned int for the network member; negative networks don't make much sense. We're already using unsigned for mctp_dev and mctp_skb_cb, but need to change mctp_sock to suit. 2021-07-29mctp: Allow per-netns default networksMatt Johnston
Currently we have a compile-time default network (MCTP_INITIAL_DEFAULT_NET). This change introduces a default_net field on the net namespace, allowing future configuration for new interfaces. 2021-07-29mctp: Add device handling and netlink interfaceJeremy Kerr
This change adds the infrastructure for managing MCTP netdevices; we add a pointer to the AF_MCTP-specific data to struct netdevice, and hook up the rtnetlink operations for adding and removing addresses. 2021-07-29mctp: Add MCTP baseJeremy Kerr
Add basic Kconfig, an initial (empty) af_mctp source object, and {AF,PF}_MCTP definitions, and the required definitions for a new protocol type. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@codeconstruct.com.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
