2024-05-06selftests: sync: ksft_exit_pass() does not returnNathan Chancellor
After commit f7d5bcd35d42 ("selftests: kselftest: Mark functions that unconditionally call exit() as __noreturn"), ksft_exit_...() functions are marked as __noreturn, which means the return type should not be 'int' but 'void' because they are not returning anything (and never were since exit() has always been called). To facilitate updating the return type of these functions, remove 'return' before the call to ksft_exit_pass(), as __noreturn prevents the compiler from warning that a caller of ksft_exit_pass() does not return a value because the program will terminate upon calling these functions (which is what the comment alluded to as well). 2020-07-06selftests: sync_test: do not use ksft_exit_skip after ksft_set_planPaolo Bonzini
Calling ksft_exit_skip after ksft_set_plan results in executing fewer tests than planned. Move it before. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-04-25selftests: Add test plan API to kselftest.h and adjust callersKees Cook
The test plan for TAP needs to be declared immediately after the header. This adds the test plan API to kselftest.h and updates all callers to declare their expected test counts. Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org>

2017-07-28selftests: sync: differentiate between sync unsupported and access errorsShuah Khan
Sync test doesn't differentiate between sync unsupported and test run by non-root user and treats both as unsupported cases. Fix it to add handling for these two different scenarios. Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <shuahkh@osg.samsung.com> Reviewed-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.com>
2017-06-07selftests: sync: Skip the test if kernel support is not foundMichael Ellerman
The "Sync framework" test doesn't work if the kernel has no support, obviously. Rather than reporting a failure, check for the kernel support by looking for /sys/kernel/debug/sync/sw_sync, and if not found skip the test.
