2024-10-14selftests:timers: remove local CLOCKID definesShuah Khan
timers tests defines CLOCKIDs locally. Remove all local CLOCKIDs except CLOCK_HWSPECIFIC and use defines from time.h header file. CLOCK_HWSPECIFIC and CLOCK_SGI_CYCLE are the same and CLOCK_SGI_CYCLE is deprecated, Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org> Acked-by: John Stultz <jstultz@google.com> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org>
2024-10-14selftests: timers: Remove local NSEC_PER_SEC and USEC_PER_SEC definesShuah Khan
Remove local NSEC_PER_SEC and USEC_PER_SEC defines. Pick them up from include/vdso/time64.h. This requires -I $(top_srcdir) to the timers Makefile to include the include/vdso/time64.h. posix_timers test names the defines NSECS_PER_SEC and USECS_PER_SEC. Change posix_timers test references to the defines to match the defines in the header file. 2024-05-06selftests: timers: ksft_exit functions do not returnNathan Chancellor
After commit f7d5bcd35d42 ("selftests: kselftest: Mark functions that unconditionally call exit() as __noreturn"), ksft_exit_...() functions are marked as __noreturn, which means the return type should not be 'int' but 'void' because they are not returning anything (and never were since exit() has always been called). To facilitate updating the return type of these functions, remove 'return' before the calls to ksft_exit_...(), as __noreturn prevents the compiler from warning that a caller of the ksft_exit functions does not return a value because the program will terminate upon calling these functions. 2023-07-13tools: timers: fix freq average calculationMinjie Du
Delete a duplicate assignment from this function implementation. The note means ppm is average of the two actual freq samples. But ppm have a duplicate assignment. Mixing up argc/argv went unnoticed because they were not used. Still, this is worth fixing. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa+renesas@sang-engineering.com> Acked-by: John Stultz <jstultz@google.com> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-05-21selftests/timers: Add missing fflush(stdout) callsKees Cook
When running under a pipe, some timer tests would not report output in real-time because stdout flushes were missing after printf()s that lacked a newline. This adds them to restore real-time status output that humans can enjoy. Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org>
2018-07-10selftest: timers: Tweak raw_skew to SKIP when ADJ_OFFSET/other clock ↵John Stultz
adjustments are in progress In the past we've warned when ADJ_OFFSET was in progress, usually caused by ntpd or some other time adjusting daemon running in non steady sate, which can cause the skew calculations to be incorrect. Thus, this patch checks to see if the clock was being adjusted when we fail so that we don't cause false negatives. 2017-08-22selftests: timers: drop support for !KTEST caseShuah Khan
There is no need to keep timers tests in sync with external timers repo. Drop support for !KTEST to support for building and running timers tests without kselftest framework. 2015-03-12selftests/timers: Add clock skew estimation test from timetest suiteJohn Stultz
This adds my clock skew estimation test from the timetest suite. It measures the drift between CLOCK_MONOTONIC and CLOCK_MONOTONIC_RAW and compares it with the current frequency value from adjtimex. It sometimes can trigger false failures when ntpd isn't in a steady state, but its a useful too when doing adjtimex testing.
