2024-05-06printk: Remove redundant CONFIG_BASE_FULLYoann Congal
CONFIG_BASE_FULL is equivalent to !CONFIG_BASE_SMALL and is enabled by default: CONFIG_BASE_SMALL is the special case to take care of. So, remove CONFIG_BASE_FULL and move the config choice to CONFIG_BASE_SMALL (which defaults to 'n') For defconfigs explicitely disabling BASE_FULL, explicitely enable BASE_SMALL. For defconfigs explicitely enabling BASE_FULL, drop it as it is the default. 2024-01-11ARM: defconfig: reorder config linesArnd Bergmann
As part of general housekeeping, change the defconfig files to sort lines based on the 'make savedefconfig' output, to make it easier to do additional changes on top. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>

There is only one Kconfig user of CONFIG_EMBEDDED and it can be switched to EXPERT or "if !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM" (suggested by Arnd). 2022-08-29ARM: defconfig: reorder defconfig filesArnd Bergmann
The debug-info and can subystem options have moved around in the 'savedefconfig' output, so fix these up to reduce the clutter from the savedefconfig command. 2022-07-22ARM: defconfig: address renamed CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=yArnd Bergmann
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO is now implicitly selected if one picks one of the explicit options that could be DEBUG_INFO_DWARF_TOOLCHAIN_DEFAULT, DEBUG_INFO_DWARF4, DEBUG_INFO_DWARF5. This was actually not what I had in mind when I suggested making it a 'choice' statement, but it's too late to change again now, and the Kconfig logic is more sensible in the new form. Change any defconfig file that had CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO enabled but did not pick DWARF4 or DWARF5 explicitly to now pick the toolchain default. 2022-07-22ARM: defconfig: remove stale CONFIG_ZBOOT_ROM entriesArnd Bergmann
The default is always 0x0 after commit 39c3e304567a ("ARM: 8984/1: Kconfig: set default ZBOOT_ROM_TEXT/BSS value to 0x0"), so any defconfig file that has these two lines can now drop them to reduce the diff against the 'make savedefconfig' version. 2022-07-22ARM: refresh defconfig filesArnd Bergmann
A lot of Kconfig options have changed over the years, and we tend to not do a blind 'make defconfig' to refresh the files, to ensure we catch options that should not have gone away. I used some a bit of scripting to only rework the bits where an option moved around in any of the defconfig files, without also dropping any of the other lines, to make it clearer which options we no longer have. 2022-04-22binfmt_flat: Remove shared library supportEric W. Biederman
In a recent discussion[1] it was reported that the binfmt_flat library support was only ever used on m68k and even on m68k has not been used in a very long time. The structure of binfmt_flat is different from all of the other binfmt implementations because of this shared library support and it made life and code review more effort when I refactored the code in fs/exec.c. Since in practice the code is dead remove the binfmt_flat shared library support and make maintenance of the code easier. 2020-02-09ARM: configs: Cleanup old Kconfig optionsKrzysztof Kozlowski
CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK_BOUNCE is gone since commit c3dccb74be28 ("mmc: core: Delete bounce buffer Kconfig option"). CONFIG_LBDAF is gone since commit 72deb455b5ec ("block: remove CONFIG_LBDAF"). CONFIG_IOSCHED_DEADLINE and CONFIG_IOSCHED_CFQ are gone since commit f382fb0bcef4 ("block: remove legacy IO schedulers"). The IOSCHED_DEADLINE was replaced by MQ_IOSCHED_DEADLINE and it will be now enabled by default (along with MQ_IOSCHED_KYBER). The IOSCHED_BFQ seems to replace IOSCHED_CFQ so select it in configs previously choosing the latter. CONFIG_CROSS_COMPILE is gone since commit f1089c92da79 ("kbuild: remove CONFIG_CROSS_COMPILE support"). 2019-04-06block: remove CONFIG_LBDAFChristoph Hellwig
Currently support for 64-bit sector_t and blkcnt_t is optional on 32-bit architectures. These types are required to support block device and/or file sizes larger than 2 TiB, and have generally defaulted to on for a long time. Enabling the option only increases the i386 tinyconfig size by 145 bytes, and many data structures already always use 64-bit values for their in-core and on-disk data structures anyway, so there should not be a large change in dynamic memory usage either. Dropping this option removes a somewhat weird non-default config that has cause various bugs or compiler warnings when actually used.
