2025-03-02crypto: nx - use the new scatterwalk functionsEric Biggers
- In nx_walk_and_build(), use scatterwalk_start_at_pos() instead of a more complex way to achieve the same result. - Also in nx_walk_and_build(), use the new functions scatterwalk_next() which consolidates scatterwalk_clamp() and scatterwalk_map(), and use scatterwalk_done_src() which consolidates scatterwalk_unmap(), scatterwalk_advance(), and scatterwalk_done(). Remove unnecessary code that seemed to be intended to advance to the next sg entry, which is already handled by the scatterwalk functions. Note that nx_walk_and_build() does not actually read or write the mapped virtual address, and thus it is misusing the scatter_walk API. It really should just access the scatterlist directly. This patch does not try to address this existing issue. - In nx_gca(), use memcpy_from_sglist() instead of a more complex way to achieve the same result. - In various functions, replace calls to scatterwalk_map_and_copy() with memcpy_from_sglist() or memcpy_to_sglist() as appropriate. Note that this eliminates the confusing 'out' argument (which this driver had tried to work around by defining the missing constants for it...) 2021-06-24crypto: nx - Fix numerous sparse byte-order warningsHerbert Xu
The nx driver started out its life as a BE-only driver. However, somewhere along the way LE support was partially added. This never seems to have been extended all the way but it does trigger numerous warnings during build. This patch fixes all those warnings, but it doesn't mean that the driver will work on LE. 2021-03-26crypto: nx - fix incorrect kernel-doc comment syntax in filesAditya Srivastava
The opening comment mark '/**' is used for highlighting the beginning of kernel-doc comments. There are certain files in drivers/crypto/nx, which follow this syntax, but the content inside does not comply with kernel-doc. Such lines were probably not meant for kernel-doc parsing, but are parsed due to the presence of kernel-doc like comment syntax(i.e, '/**'), which causes unexpected warnings from kernel-doc. E.g., presence of kernel-doc like comment in the header lines for drivers/crypto/nx/nx-sha256.c at header causes these warnings: "warning: Function parameter or member 'tfm' not described in 'nx_crypto_ctx_sha256_init'" "warning: expecting prototype for SHA(). Prototype was for nx_crypto_ctx_sha256_init() instead" Similarly for other files too. Provide a simple fix by replacing such occurrences with general comment format, i.e. '/*', to prevent kernel-doc from parsing it. 2019-11-17crypto: nx - remove stale comment referring to the blkcipher walk APIArd Biesheuvel
These drivers do not use either the deprecated blkcipher or the current skcipher walk API, so this comment must refer to a previous state of the driver that no longer exists. So drop the comments. 2019-10-23crypto: nx - don't abuse blkcipher_desc to pass iv aroundEric Biggers
The NX crypto driver is using 'struct blkcipher_desc' to pass the IV around, even for AEADs (for which it creates the struct on the stack). This is not appropriate since this structure is part of the "blkcipher" API, which is deprecated and will be removed. Just pass around the IV directly instead. 2015-07-08crypto: nx - Fix reentrancy bugsHerbert Xu
This patch fixes a host of reentrancy bugs in the nx driver. The following algorithms are affected: * CCM * GCM * CTR * XCBC * SHA256 * SHA512 The crypto API allows a single transform to be used by multiple threads simultaneously. For example, IPsec will use a single tfm to process packets for a given SA. As packets may arrive on multiple CPUs that tfm must be reentrant. The nx driver does try to deal with this by using a spin lock. Unfortunately only the basic AES/CBC/ECB algorithms do this in the correct way. The symptom of these bugs may range from the generation of incorrect output to memory corruption. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au>
2014-11-06crypto: nx - Moving NX-AES-CCM to be processed logic and sg_list boundsLeonidas S. Barbosa
The previous limits were estimated locally in a single step basead on bound values, however it was not correct since when given certain scatterlist the function nx_build_sg_lists was consuming more sg entries than allocated causing a memory corruption and crashes. This patch removes the old logic and replaces it into nx_sg_build_lists in order to build a correct nx_sg list using the correct sg_max limit and bounds. Signed-off-by: Leonidas S. 2013-08-14crypto: nx - fix concurrency issueMarcelo Cerri
The NX driver uses the transformation context to store several fields containing data related to the state of the operations in progress. Since a single tfm can be used by different kernel threads at the same time, we need to protect the data stored into the context. This patch makes use of spin locks to protect the data where a race condition can happen. 2012-08-01crypto: drivers - remove cra_list initializationJussi Kivilinna
Initialization of cra_list is currently mixed, most ciphers initialize this field and most shashes do not. Initialization however is not needed at all since cra_list is initialized/overwritten in __crypto_register_alg() with list_add(). Therefore perform cleanup to remove all unneeded initializations of this field in 'crypto/drivers/'.
