2024-12-16gpio: tqmx86: add support for changing GPIO directionsMatthias Schiffer
Only GPIOs 4..7 have IRQ support on the TQMx86 variants currently handled by the driver, but apart from that, changing directions works fine. The default directions are left unchanged (0..3 output, 4..7 input) to match the COM Express specification. A tqmx86_gpio_set() variant without locking is introduced as a new helper. 2024-12-16gpio: tqmx86: introduce tqmx86_gpio_clrsetbits() helperMatthias Schiffer

2024-12-16gpio: tqmx86: consistently refer to IRQs by hwirq numbersMatthias Schiffer
On currently supported variants of the TQMx86 GPIO controller, only GPIOs 4-7 have IRQ support; in the interrupt status and config registers, position 0 therefore corresponds to GPIO 4, position 1 to GPIO 5, etc. This was made even more confusing by sometimes using the term "offset" to refer to GPIO numbers (which are equavalent to hwirq numbers), and sometimes to bit positions in the hardware registers. With this change, the whole driver consistently uses hwirq numbers (== GPIO numbers) when referring to the IRQs, and only the two pieces of code that interact with the hardware registers (tqmx86_gpio_irq_config() and tqmx86_gpio_irq_handler()) deal with bit positions. Space for hwirq numbers 0-3 is reserved in the irq_type array, but remains unused for existing (COM Express) TQMx86 variants; support for TQMx86 variants that support IRQs on all GPIO lines will be added in the future. No functional change intended. 2024-12-16gpio: tqmx86: add macros for interrupt configurationMatthias Schiffer
Consistently use TQMX86_INT_* flags for irq_type values. The TQMX86_GPII_CONFIG macro is used to convert from TQMX86_INT_TRIG_* flags to GPII register values. Bit patterns for TQMX86_INT_* are chosen to make this conversion as simple as possible. No functional change intended. 2024-06-03gpio: tqmx86: fix broken IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_BOTH interrupt typeMatthias Schiffer
The TQMx86 GPIO controller only supports falling and rising edge triggers, but not both. Fix this by implementing a software both-edge mode that toggles the edge type after every interrupt. 2024-06-03gpio: tqmx86: store IRQ trigger type and unmask status separatelyMatthias Schiffer
irq_set_type() should not implicitly unmask the IRQ. All accesses to the interrupt configuration register are moved to a new helper tqmx86_gpio_irq_config(). We also introduce the new rule that accessing irq_type must happen while locked, which will become significant for fixing EDGE_BOTH handling. 2024-06-03gpio: tqmx86: introduce shadow register for GPIO output valueMatthias Schiffer
The TQMx86 GPIO controller uses the same register address for input and output data. Reading the register will always return current inputs rather than the previously set outputs (regardless of the current direction setting). Therefore, using a RMW pattern does not make sense when setting output values. Instead, the previously set output register value needs to be stored as a shadow register. As there is no reliable way to get the current output values from the hardware, also initialize all channels to 0, to ensure that stored and actual output values match. This should usually not have any effect in practise, as the TQMx86 UEFI sets all outputs to 0 during boot. Also prepare for extension of the driver to more than 8 GPIOs by using DECLARE_BITMAP. 2023-08-03gpio: tqmx86: remove unneeded call to platform_set_drvdata()Andrei Coardos
This function call was found to be unnecessary as there is no equivalent platform_get_drvdata() call to access the private data of the driver. Also, the private data is defined in this driver, so there is no risk of it being accessed outside of this driver file. 2019-11-07gpio: Use new GPIO_LINE_DIRECTIONMatti Vaittinen
It's hard for occasional GPIO code reader/writer to know if values 0/1 equal to IN or OUT. Use defined GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_IN and GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_OUT to help them out. NOTE - for gpio-amd-fch and gpio-bd9571mwv: This commit also changes the return value for direction get to equal 1 for direction INPUT. Prior this commit these drivers might have returned some other positive value but 1 for INPUT. 2019-09-11gpio: Initialize the irqchip valid_mask with a callbackLinus Walleij
After changing the valid_mask for the struct gpio_chip to detect the need and presence of a valid mask with the presence of a .init_valid_mask() callback to fill it in, we augment the gpio_irq_chip to use the same logic. Switch all driver using the gpio_irq_chio valid_mask over to this new method. This makes sure the valid_mask for the gpio_irq_chip gets filled in when we add the gpio_chip, which makes it a little easier to switch over drivers using the old way of setting up gpio_irq_chip over to the new method of passing the gpio_irq_chip along with the gpio_chip.
