2022-09-24media: cx88: add IR remote support for NotOnlyTV LV3HDaniel González Cabanelas
The PCI hybrid card NotOnlyTV LV3H has a built-in IR receiver connected via I2C bus, currently not supported. This receiver is probably present in more Geniatech cards. It has no capability for repeating when a key is held down. Add support for this built-in IR receiver. Use the existing Total Media In Hand_02 remote keytable (Geniatech Mygica X8507) which matches exactly the LV3H remote. Some cx88 video cards may have transport stream status interrupts set to 1 from cold start, causing errors like this: cx88xx: cx88_print_irqbits: core:irq mpeg [0x100000] ts_err?* cx8802: cx8802_mpeg_irq: mpeg:general errors: 0x00100000 According to CX2388x datasheet, the interrupt status register should be cleared before enabling IRQs to stream video. The wrappers in include/linux/pci-dma-compat.h should go away. The patch has been generated with the coccinelle script below and has been hand modified to replace GFP_ with a correct flag. It has been compile tested. Only 2 functions allocate some memory. They are both in cx88-core.c When memory is allocated in 'cx88_risc_buffer()', GFP_KERNEL can be used because its 2 callers end up to '.buf_prepare' functions in 'vb2_ops' structures. The Documentation/DMA-API-HOWTO.txt states that dma_map_sg returns the numer of the created entries in the DMA address space. However the subsequent calls to dma_sync_sg_for_{device,cpu} and dma_unmap_sg must be called with the original number of entries passed to dma_map_sg. The sg_table->nents in turn holds the result of the dma_map_sg call as stated in include/linux/scatterlist.h. Adapt the code to obey those rules. While touching this code, update it to use the modern DMA_FROM_DEVICE definitions. 2020-09-03media: rc: harmonize infrared durations to microsecondsSean Young
rc-core kapi uses nanoseconds for infrared durations for receiving, and microseconds for sending. The uapi already uses microseconds for both, so this patch does not change the uapi. Infrared durations do not need nanosecond resolution. IR protocols do not have durations shorter than about 100 microseconds. Some IR hardware offers 250 microseconds resolution, which is sufficient for most protocols. Better hardware has 50 microsecond resolution and is enough for every protocol I am aware off. Unify on microseconds everywhere. This simplifies the code since less conversion between microseconds and nanoseconds needs to be done. With legacy PM, drivers themselves were responsible for managing the device's power states and takes care of register states. After upgrading to the generic structure, PCI core will take care of required tasks and drivers should do only device-specific operations. The driver was invoking PCI helper functions like pci_save/restore_state(), pci_enable/disable_device() and pci_set_power_state(), which is not recommended. Compile-tested only. 2020-04-14media: Kconfig: better support hybrid TV devicesMauro Carvalho Chehab
Right now, if one has an hybrid TV card, it has to select both analog and digital TV support, as otherwise the needed core support won't be selected. Change the logic to auto-select the core support for those drivers, as this is a way more intuitive. It should be noticed that, as now both DVB_CORE and VIDEO_DEV defaults depends on selecting a hybrid cards, we had to remove the explicit dependencies there, in order to avoid circular dependencies. That requires some tricks: 1) the prompt should not be not visible when an hybrid card is selected, as the user shold not change it. 2) When a media hybrid device is selected, the modular option for DVB_CORE and VIDEO_DEV will follow the MEDIA_SUPPORT dependency, as we can't have a core built with "y" with a driver built as module. Add support for the PCI hybrid card NotOnlyTV LV3H. This card consists of: - A/V Controller: Conexant CX-23883 - Tuner: Xceive XC3028L - DVB-T Decoder: Zarlink ZL10353 This patch adds support for DVB-T, Analog TV, FM radio, composite and S-video inputs. The IR input isn't supported. Instead of filling in the struct v4l2_capability device_caps field, fill in the struct video_device device_caps field. That way the V4L2 core knows what the capabilities of the video device are. Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy way [1]. To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks. Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5bc6 ("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter"). The vzalloc() function has no 2-factor argument form, so multiplication factors need to be wrapped in array_size(). 2018-05-05media: cx88: Get rid of spurious call to cx8800_start_vbi_dma()Devin Heitmueller
This was left over from the conversion to VB2, where the call was getting invoked both in buffer_queue and start_streaming, which was intermittently causing invalid opcodes on the VBI RISC queue. This change effectively mirrors the exact same change Hans Verkuil made in cx88-video.c in commit 389208e1173e ("[media] cx88: remove leftover start_video_dma() call").
