2025-05-02media: renesas: vsp1: Allow setting encoding and quantizationLaurent Pinchart
The RPF and WPF support different encodings and quantizations when converting between RGB and YUV formats. Allow setting the corresponding format parameters from userspace, and configure the hardware accordingly. 2025-05-02media: renesas: vsp1: rwpf: Support operations with IIFJacopo Mondi
When the RPF/WPF units are used for ISP interfacing through the IIF, the set of accessible registers is limited compared to the regular VSPD operations. Support ISP interfacing in the rpf and wpf entities by checking if the pipe features an IIF instance and writing only the relevant registers. 2025-05-02media: renesas: vsp1: wpf: Propagate vsp1_rwpf_init_ctrls()Jacopo Mondi
vsp1_wpf.c calls vsp1_rwpf_init_ctrls() to initialize controls that are common between RPF and WPF. However, the vsp1_wpf.c implementation does not check for the function call return value. Fix this by propagating to the caller the return value. While at it, drop a duplicated error message in wpf_init_controls() as the caller already report it. 2024-06-20media: renesas: vsp1: Pass subdev state to entity operationsLaurent Pinchart
To prepare for the removal of the vsp1_entity.state field, pass the state to all entity operations that needs to access it, instead of accessing the state from the entity inside the operation handlers. This lowers the number of accesses to the field. Signed-off-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart+renesas@ideasonboard.com> Reviewed-by: Jacopo Mondi <jacopo.mondi+renesas@ideasonboard.com>
2024-06-20media: renesas: vsp1: Get configuration from partition instead of stateLaurent Pinchart
Entities access various piece of information from the subdev state when configuring a partition. The same data is available through the partition structure passed to the .configure_partition() operation. Use it to avoid accessing the state, which will simplify moving to the V4L2 subdev active state API. 2024-06-20media: renesas: vsp1: Replace vsp1_partition_window with v4l2_rectLaurent Pinchart
The vsp1_partition_window structure is used to store the horizontal size of a partition window. This is all that is currently needed, as all partitions span the whole image vertically. The horizontal window size is retrieved in the .configure_partition() handler from the vsp1_partition_window structure, and the vertical window size from the subdev state. Accessing the subdev state in the .configure_partition() handler is problematic in the context of moving to the V4L2 subdev active state API, as .configure_partition() is called in non-interruptable context, and the state lock can't be taken. To avoid this, start by storing the vertical size in the window, replacing the custom vsp1_partition_window structure with a v4l2_rect. Retrieving the vertical size from the window in .configure_partition() will be done in a subsequent change. 2024-06-20media: renesas: vsp1: Pass partition pointer to .configure_partition()Laurent Pinchart
The entity .configure_partition() function operates on a partition, and has to retrieve that partition from the pipeline's current partition field. Pass the partition pointer to the function to make it clearer what partition it operates on, and remove the vsp1_pipeline.partition field. This change clearly shows that the DRM pipeline doesn't use partitions, which makes entity implementation more complex and error-prone. This will be addressed in a further cleanup. The vsp1_entity_get_pad_format() function is just a wrapper around v4l2_subdev_state_get_format() without any added value. Drop it and call v4l2_subdev_state_get_format() directly. 2023-11-13media: vsp1: Remove unbalanced .s_stream(0) callsLaurent Pinchart
The VSP1 driver uses the subdev .s_stream() operation to stop WPF instances, without a corresponding call to start them. The V4L2 subdev core started warning about unbalanced .s_stream() calls in commit 009905ec5043 ("media: v4l2-subdev: Document and enforce .s_stream() requirements"), causing a regression with this driver. Fix the problem by replacing the .s_stream() operation with an explicit function call for WPF instances. This allows sharing an additional data structure between RPF and WPF instances. 2023-01-20media: renesas: vsp1: Change V3U to be gen4Tomi Valkeinen
V3U is actually gen4, not gen3. The same IP is also used in the (not-yet-supported) V4H. Change VI6_IP_VERSION_MODEL_VSPD_V3U to VI6_IP_VERSION_MODEL_VSPD_GEN4, to represent the model correctly. V3U and V4H can still be differentiated, if needed, with the VI6_IP_VERSION_SOC_xxx. Also mark VI6_IP_VERSION_MODEL_VSPD_GEN4 as gen 4 in vsp1_device_info, and update the code to correctly match for gen 4.
