2022-03-09ASoC: Intel: soc-acpi: add more ACPI HIDs for ES83x6 devicesPierre-Louis Bossart
We only saw ESSX8336 so far, but now with reports of 'ESSX8326' we need to expand to a full list. Let's reuse the 'snd_soc_acpi_codecs' structure to store the information. Note that ES8326 will need a dedicated codec driver, but the plan is to use the same machine driver for all Everest Audio devices. 2022-03-09ASoC: Intel: soc-acpi: quirk topology filename dynamicallyPierre-Louis Bossart
Different topology filenames may be required depending on which SSP is used, and whether or not digital mics are present. This patch adds a tplg_quirk_mask and in the case of the SOF driver adds the relevant configurations. This is a short-term solution to the ES8336 support issues. In a long-term solution, we would need an interface where the machine driver or platform driver have the ability to alter the topology hard-coded low-level hardware support, e.g. by substituting an interface for another, or disabling an interface that is not supported on a given skew. 2022-03-02ASoC: soc-acpi: remove sof_fw_filenamePierre-Louis Bossart
We've been using a default firmware name for each PCI/ACPI/OF platform for a while. The machine-specific sof_fw_filename is in practice not different from the default, and newer devices don't set this field, so let's remove the redundant definitions. When OEMs modify the base firmware, they can keep the same firmware name but store the file in a separate directory. 2021-08-10ASoC: Intel: Fix platform ID matchingCurtis Malainey
Sparse warnings triggered truncating the IDs of some platform device tables. Unfortunately some of the IDs in the match tables were missed which breaks audio. The KBL change has been verified to fix audio, the CML change was not tested as it was found through grepping the broken changes and found to match the same situation in anticipation that it should also be fixed. 2020-09-23ASoC: Intel: add codec name prefix to ACPI machine descriptionPierre-Louis Bossart
The current SOF machine driver adds a name prefix for each codec, mainly to differentiate ALSA controls for left and right amplifiers. This is a good idea, but the machine driver duplicates some of the information that already exists in ACPI descriptors, so add those prefixes there. Follow-up patches will make use of the information encoded in these tables and remove duplication. Some TGL devices use the same audio hardware as on CML platforms, with RT711 on link0, RT1308 on link1 and optionally link2, and RT715 on link 3. To clarify configurations, the rt1308 configurations are split between single amp on link1 and dual amps on link1. The case with two amps on different links is already identified with the group1 attribute. 2020-08-24ASoC: Intel: modify SoundWire version id in acpi match tableBard Liao
The SoundWire version id of the existing RT1308, RT711, and RT715 codecs should be 2 (index for SoundWire 1.1), it was mistakenly set as 1 which pointed to the wrong version (SoundWire 1.0). This off-by-one error had no functional impact so far since the version number was not used, however in future patches this version will be required. 2020-03-27ASoC: soc-acpi: expand description of _ADR-based devicesPierre-Louis Bossart
For SoundWire, we need to know if endpoints needs to be 'aggregated' (MIPI parlance, meaning logically grouped), e.g. when two speaker amplifiers need to be handled as a single logical output. We don't necessarily have the information at the firmware (BIOS) level, so add a notion of endpoints and specify if a device/endpoint is part of a group, with a position. This may be expanded in future solutions, for now only provide a group and position information. Since we modify the header file, change all existing upstream tables as well to avoid breaking compilation/bisect. 2019-12-10ASoC: Intel: common: work-around incorrect ACPI HID for CML boardsAmery Song
On CML boards with the RT5682 headset codec and RT1011 speaker amplifier, the platform firmware exposes three ACPI HIDs (10EC5682, 10EC1011 and MX98357A). The last HID is a mistake in DSDT tables, which causes the wrong machine driver to be loaded. This patch changes the key used to identify boards and changes the order of entries in the table to load the correct machine driver. The order does matter and should not be modified to work-around this firmware issue.
