2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2021-08-03ARM: dts: am335x-evm: Enable PRU-ICSS moduleSuman Anna
The PRU-ICSS target module node was left in disabled state in the base am33xx-l4.dtsi file. PRU-ICSS is supported on the AM335x EVM, so enable this node on the AM335x EVM. The PRUSS node and most of its child nodes are already enabled in the base dts file, and so become effective automatically with the enabling of this PRU-ICSS target module node. The corresponding PRU nodes can be disabled later on if there are no use-cases defined to use a particular PRU core or the whole PRU-ICSS subsystem itself if both its PRU cores are unused. The dual_mac mode has been preserved the same way between legacy and new driver, and one port devices works the same as 1 dual_mac port - it's safe to switch drivers. So, Switch amam335x-evm, am335x-evmsk and am335x-icev2 boards to use new cpsw switch driver. Those boards have or 2 Ext. port wired and configured in dual_mac mode by default, or only 1 Ext. port. The PHY must add both tx and rx delay and not only on the tx clock. The board uses AR8031_AL1A PHY where the rx delay is enabled by default, the tx dealy is disabled. The reason why rgmii-txid worked because the rx delay was not disabled by the driver so essentially we ended up with rgmii-id PHY mode. 2018-07-02ARM: dts: Improve omap l4per idling with wlcore edge sensitive interruptTony Lindgren
The wl1835mod.pdf data sheet says this pretty clearly for WL_IRQ line: "WLAN SDIO out-of-band interrupt line. Set to rising edge (active high) by default." And it seems this interrupt can be optionally configured to use falling edge too since commit bd763482c82e ("wl18xx: wlan_irq: support platform dependent interrupt types"). On omap4, if the wlcore interrupt is configured as level instead of edge, L4PER will stop doing hardware based idling after ifconfig wlan0 down is done and the WL_EN line is pulled down. The symptoms show up with L4PER status registers no longer showing the IDLEST bits as 2 but as 0 for all the active GPIO banks and for L4PER_CLKCTRL. Also the l4per_pwrdm RET count stops increasing in the /sys/kernel/debug/pm_debug/count. While there is also probably a GPIO related issue that needs to be still fixed, this change gets us to the point where we can have L4PER idling. I'm guessing wlcore was at some point configured to use level interrupts because of edge handling issues in gpio-omap. However, with the recent fixes to gpio-omap the edge interrupts seem to be working just fine. Let's change it for all omap boards with wlcore interrupt set as level. Add clkctrl nodes for AM33xx SoC. These are going to be acting as replacement for part of the existing clock data and the existing clkctrl hooks under hwmod data. This patch also removes any obsolete clock nodes, and reroutes all users for these to use the new clkctrl clocks instead. 2017-08-14ARM: dts: am335x-evm: Enable NAND dma prefetch by defaultFranklin S Cooper Jr
Currently the default method of prefetch polled shows the highest possible read and write speed when minimal non NAND background activity is being done. But it is also very CPU intensive to reach these high speeds (CPU load of 99% via mtd performance tests). While DMA prefetch only uses 50% of the CPU to achieve around 23% less in top read and write performance. However, as the non NAND CPU load increases the read and write performance takes a large hit when using polled prefetch. Therefore, prefetch dma mode ends up outperforming prefetch polled in general "system level" test. So switch to using dma prefetch by default since it is likely what most users would prefer. On these boards NAND ready pin status is avilable over GPMC_WAIT0 pin. For NAND we don't use GPMC wait pin monitoring but get the NAND Ready/Busy# status using GPIOlib. GPMC driver provides the WAIT0 pin status over GPIOlib. Read speed increases from 7869 KiB/ to 8875 KiB/s and write speed was unchanged at 5100 KiB/s. Measured using mtd_speedtest.ko on am335x-evm. With the new bindings boards can customize and tweak the DMA channel priority to match their needs. With the new binding the memcpy is safe to be used since with the old binding it was not possible for a driver to know which channel is allowed to be used as non HW triggered channel. 2015-02-03ARM: dts: AM335x: Make charge delay a DT parameter for TSCVignesh R
The charge delay value is by default 0x400. But it can be set to lower values on some boards, as long as false pen-ups are avoided. Lowering the value increases the sampling rate (though current sampling rate is sufficient for TSC operation). In some boards, the value has to be increased to avoid false pen-up events.
