2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2022-03-07clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Fix regression from errata i940 fixDrew Fustini
The existing fix for errata i940 causes a conflict for IPU2 which is using timer 3 and 4. From arch/arm/boot/dts/dra7-ipu-dsp-common.dtsi: &ipu2 { mboxes = <&mailbox6 &mbox_ipu2_ipc3x>; ti,timers = <&timer3>; ti,watchdog-timers = <&timer4>, <&timer9>; }; The conflict was noticed when booting mainline on the BeagleBoard X15 which has a TI AM5728 SoC: remoteproc remoteproc1: 55020000.ipu is available remoteproc remoteproc1: powering up 55020000.ipu remoteproc remoteproc1: Booting fw image dra7-ipu2-fw.xem4 omap-rproc 55020000.ipu: could not get timer platform device omap-rproc 55020000.ipu: omap_rproc_enable_timers failed: -19 remoteproc remoteproc1: can't start rproc 55020000.ipu: -19 This change modifies the errata fix to instead use timer 15 and 16 which resolves the timer conflict. 2021-04-08clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Handle dra7 timer wrap errata i940Tony Lindgren
There is a timer wrap issue on dra7 for the ARM architected timer. In a typical clock configuration the timer fails to wrap after 388 days. To work around the issue, we need to use timer-ti-dm percpu timers instead. Let's configure dmtimer3 and 4 as percpu timers by default, and warn about the issue if the dtb is not configured properly. Let's do this as a single patch so it can be backported to v5.8 and later kernels easily. Note that this patch depends on earlier timer-ti-dm systimer posted mode fixes, and a preparatory clockevent patch "clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Prepare to handle dra7 timer wrap issue". For more information, please see the errata for "AM572x Sitara Processors Silicon Revisions 1.1, 2.0": https://www.ti.com/lit/er/sprz429m/sprz429m.pdf The concept is based on earlier reference patches done by Tero Kristo and Keerthy. Looks like we've been happily using sata on the bootloader configured sysconfig register and nobody noticed. Also the old register range for SATAMAC_wrapper registers is wrong at 7 while it should be 8. But that too seems harmless. There is also an L3 parent interconnect range that we don't seem to be using. That can be added as needed later on. 2021-03-10ARM: dts: Update pcie ranges for dra7Tony Lindgren
In order to update pcie to probe with ti-sysc and genpd, let's update the pcie ranges to not use address 0 for 0x20000000 and 0x30000000. The range for 0 is typically used for child devices as the offset from the module base. In the following patches, we will update pcie to probe with ti-sysc, and the patches become a bit confusing to read compared to other similar modules unless we update the ranges first. So let's just use the full addresses for ranges for the 0x20000000 and 0x30000000 ranges. Tested-by: Kishon Vijay Abraham I <kishon@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

We can now init system timers using the dmtimer and 32k counter based on only devicetree data and drivers/clocksource timers. Let's configure the clocksource and clockevent, and drop the old unused platform data. As we're just dropping platform data, and the early platform data init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch. Since the dmtimer can use both 32k clock and system clock as the source, let's also configure the SoC specific default values. The board specific dts files can reconfigure these with assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-parents as needed. Note that similar to omap_init_time_of(), we now need to call omap_clk_init() also from omap5_realtime_timer_init(). 2020-05-05ARM: dts: DRA7: Add common IPU and DSP nodesSuman Anna
The DRA7xx family of SOCs have two IPUs and upto two DSP processor subsystems in general. The IPU processor subsystem contains dual-core ARM Cortex-M4 processors, while the DSP processor subsystem is based on the TI's standard TMS320C66x DSP CorePac core. The IPUs are very similar to those on OMAP5. Two IPUs and one DSP processor subsystems is the most common configuration. The processor device DT nodes have been added for these processor subsystems, with the internal memories added through 'reg' and 'reg-names' properties. The IPUs only have an L2 RAM, whereas the DSPs have L1P, L1D and L2 RAM memories. NOTE: 1. The nodes do not have any mailboxes, timers or CMA regions assigned, they should be added in the respective board dts files. 2. The nodes haven been disabled by default and the enabling of these nodes is also left to the respective board dts files. Even though commit cfb5d65f2595 ("ARM: dts: dra7: Add bus_dma_limit for L3 bus") added bus_dma_limit for L3 bus, the PCIe controller gets incorrect value of bus_dma_limit. Fix it by adding empty dma-ranges property to axi@0 and axi@1 (parent device tree node of PCIe controller). 2020-03-13ARM: dts: dra7: Add bus_dma_limit for L3 busRoger Quadros
The L3 interconnect's memory map is from 0x0 to 0xffffffff. Out of this, System memory (SDRAM) can be accessed from 0x80000000 to 0xffffffff (2GB) DRA7 does support 4GB of SDRAM but upper 2GB can only be accessed by the MPU subsystem. Add the dma-ranges property to reflect the physical address limit of the L3 bus. Issues ere observed only with SATA on DRA7-EVM with 4GB RAM and CONFIG_ARM_LPAE enabled. This is because the controller supports 64-bit DMA and its driver sets the dma_mask to 64-bit thus resulting in DMA accesses beyond L3 limit of 2G. Setting the correct bus_dma_limit fixes the issue. 2020-03-04ARM: dts: dra7: Add PRU-ICSS interconnect target-module nodesSuman Anna
The AM57xx family of SoCs contains two identical PRU-ICSS instances that have a very unique SYSC register. The IPs do not have any PRCM reset lines unlike those on AM33xx/AM437x SoCs. Add the PRUSS interconnect target-module nodes with all the required properties. Each of the PRUSS devices themselves shall be added as child nodes to the corresponding interconnect node in the future. The PRU-ICSS instances are only available on AM57xx family of SoCs and are not supported on DRA7xx family of SoCs in general, so the target module nodes are added in a separate dtsi file. This new dtsi file is included in all the AM57xx SoC dtsi files, so the nodes are automatically inherited and enabled on all AM57xx boards. 2020-02-26ARM: dts: dra7: Add "dma-ranges" property to PCIe RC DT nodesKishon Vijay Abraham I
'dma-ranges' in a PCI bridge node does correctly set dma masks for PCI devices not described in the DT. Certain DRA7 platforms (e.g., DRA76) has RAM above 32-bit boundary (accessible with LPAE config) though the PCIe bridge will be able to access only 32-bits. Add 'dma-ranges' property in PCIe RC DT nodes to indicate the host bridge can access only 32 bits.
