2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. Deterministic algorithm: For each file: If not .svg: For each line: If doesn't contain `\bxmlns\b`: For each link, `\bhttp://[^# \t\r\n]*(?:\w|/)`: If neither `\bgnu\.org/license`, nor `\bmozilla\.org/MPL\b`: If both the HTTP and HTTPS versions return 200 OK and serve the same content: Replace HTTP with HTTPS. 2019-10-10ARM: dts: omap3: bulk convert compatible to be explicitly ti,omap3430 or ↵H. Nikolaus Schaller
ti,omap3630 or ti,am3517 For the ti-cpufreq driver we need a clear separation between omap34 and omap36 families since they have different silicon revisions and efuses. So far ti,omap3630/ti,omap36xx is just an additional flag to ti,omap3 while omap34 has no required entry. Therefore we can not match omap34 boards properly. This needs to add ti,omap3430 and ti,omap3630 where it is missing. We also clean up some instances of missing ti,am3517 so that we can rely on seeing either one of: ti,am3517 ti,omap3430 ti,omap3630 in addition to ti,omap3. We leave ti,omap34xx and ti,omap36xx untouched for compatibility. The script to do the conversion is: manually fix am3517_mt_ventoux.dts find arch/arm/boot/dts -name '*.dts*' -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap34xx"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap3430"' {} \; -exec sed -i '' 's/"ti,omap34xx"/"ti,omap3430", "ti,omap34xx"/' {} \; find arch/arm/boot/dts -name '*.dts*' -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap36xx"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap3630"' {} \; -exec sed -i '' 's/"ti,omap36xx"/"ti,omap3630", "ti,omap36xx"/' {} \; find arch/arm/boot/dts \( -name 'omap*.dts*' -o -name 'logic*.dts*' \) -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap3"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap3630"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap36xx"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,am3517"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap34xx"' {} \; ! -exec fgrep -q '"ti,omap3430"' {} \; -exec sed -i '' 's/"ti,omap3"/"ti,omap3430", "ti,omap3"/' {} \; So if your out-of-tree omap3 board does not show any OPPs, please check the compatibility entry and update if needed. The Beagleboard-xM has a LAN9514 USB hub and ethernet controller, connected to port 2 of the OMAP EHCI controller. The board however has no EEPROM to store the ethernet MAC address, which is programmed by the boot loader. To allow Linux to use the same MAC address as the boot loader (or for that matter any fixed MAC address), we need a node in the device tree for the ethernet controller that the boot loader can update at runtime with a local-mac-address property. 2014-09-18ARM: dts: omap: Remove WAKEUPENABLE mux options for UARTsTony Lindgren
This is no longer needed as the device specific wake-up event can now be specified with interrupts-extended property where the second interrupt is the pinctrl-single register, such as the UART3 RX pin. Note that twl4030_omap3.dtsi needs to set WAKEUPENABLE for off-idle to properly trigger the PMIC scripts. And GPIO pins still need to set WAKEUPENABLE for wake-up events. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2014-06-16ARM: dts: Enable twl4030 off-idle configuration for selected omapsTony Lindgren
N900 now seems to shut down the external oscillator when hitting off-idle. And Beagle XM seems to have OSC_EN pin connected to allow shutting down the oscillator looking at the schematics. The oscillator output is cut off in off-idle and you can monitor it from R56 on the bottom side of the board near the power jack. Note that for beagle we need to also enable the UART wake-up event, the others have that enabled in earlier patches. OMAP37XX EVM (TMDSEVM3730) does not seem to have twl4030 clken pin connected, so there is no point trying to enable shutting down of the oscillator on it for the extra latency it adds. 2014-01-07ARM: dts: Split omap3 pinmux core deviceLaurent Pinchart
The omap3_pmx_core pinmux device in the device tree handles the system controller module (SCM) PADCONFS fonction. Its control registers are split in two distinct areas, with other SCM registers in-between. Those other registers can't thus be requested by other drivers as the memory region gets reserved by the pinmux driver. Split the omap3_pmx_core device tree node in two for the two memory regions. The second region address and size depends on the SoC model. The change in omap3.dtsi fixes an "external abort on non-linefetch" when doing cat /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/.../pins on a Nokia N900. Note that the core2 padconf region is different for 3430 vs 3630, and does not exist on 3517 as noted by Nishanth Menon <nm@ti.com>. 2013-11-26ARM: dts: omap3-beagle: Fix USB host on beagle boards (for 3.13)Roger Quadros
Beagle (rev. C4) and Beagle-XM (all revs) need VAUX2 1.8V supply for the USB PHY. As the generic PHY driver can't handle more than one supply at the moment, we configure this supply to be always on. This will cause a very small power impact if the USB host subsystem is not in use, about 76.86 micro-W + LDO power. Older Beagle boards (prior to C4) don't have VAUX2 connected anywhere, so there won't be any functional impact on those boards other than some additional LDO power consumption. 2013-10-08ARM: OMAP3: Fix hardware detection for omap3630 when booted with device treeNishanth Menon
SoC family definitions at the moment are reactive to board needs as a result, beagle-xm would matchup with ti,omap3 which invokes omap3430_init_early instead of omap3630_init_early. Obviously, this is the wrong behavior. With clock node dts conversion, we get the following warnings before system hangs as a result and 3630 based platforms fails to boot (uart4 clocks are only present in OMAP3630 and not present in OMAP3430): ... omap_hwmod: uart4: cannot clk_get main_clk uart4_fck omap_hwmod: uart4: cannot _init_clocks WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at arch/arm/mach-omap2/omap_hwmod.c:2434 _init+0x6c/0x80() omap_hwmod: uart4: couldn't init clocks ... 2013-04-09ARM: dts: OMAP3: use twl4030 vdd1 regulator for CPUNishanth Menon
Define VDD1 regulator in twl4030 DT and mark it as the supply for the various OMAP34xx/35xx/36xx/37xx platforms (all use TWL4030 variants with VDD1 supplying the CPU). NOTE: This currently will use I2C1 bus communication path to set the voltage in device tree boot. In the legacy non device tree boot, we continue to use twl-common.c which bypasses I2C1 bus communication path and uses I2C4 bus path using OMAP voltage libraries. We should eventually be able to use I2C4 path once we have voltage regulator for OMAP which is capable of using the voltage controller/voltage processor IP blocks.
