2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2020-05-19ARM: dts: Configure system timers for omap3Tony Lindgren
We can now init system timers using the dmtimer and 32k counter based on only devicetree data and drivers/clocksource timers. Let's configure the clocksource and clockevent, and drop the old unused platform data. As we're just dropping platform data, and the early platform data init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch. Since the dmtimer can use both 32k clock and system clock as the source, let's also configure the SoC specific default values. The board specific dts files can reconfigure these with assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-parents as needed. Let's also update the dts file to use #include while at it. 2019-10-30ARM: dts: Configure omap3 rngTony Lindgren
Looks like omap3 RNG is similar to the omap2 rng, let's get it working by configring the dts node for it. We must also add rng_ick to core_l4_clkdm as noted by Adam Ford. And please note that the RNG is likely disabled on HS devices. At least n900 does not have it accessible, and instead omap3-rom-rng driver must be used. So let's tag RNG as disabled on n900 as noted by Pali Rohár <pali.rohar@gmail.com>. On am3517 at least the clocks need to be configured to get it working as noted by Adam Ford, so let's tag it disabled for now. Let's update the existing users with features and clock data as specified in the binding. This is currently the smartreflex for most part, and also few omap4 modules with no child device driver like mcasp, abe iss and gfx. Note that we had few mistakes that did not get noticed as we're still probing the SmartReflex driver with legacy platform data and using "ti,hwmods" legacy property for ti-sysc driver. So let's fix the omap4 and dra7 smartreflex registers as there is no no revision register. And on omap4, the mcasp module has a revision register according to the TRM. And for omap34xx we need a different configuration compared to 36xx. And the smartreflex on 3517 we've always kept disabled so let's remove any references to it. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/late Pull "Clean-up for omap PRCM (Power Reset Clock Management) and interconnects" from Tony Lindgren Patches originally from Tero Kristo <t-kristo@ti.com>. This sets gets us into a better position for further clean-up: - Gets PRCM code closer to being device drivers - Allows to move the remainig clock code to drivers/clk for v4.2 - Starts enforcing interconnect hierarchy in the SoC specific .dts files to enforce device drivers are only accesing registers in the related hardware module This patchset has seen quite a few revisions but did not come into mergeable shape until recently. As other patchsets for clock specific device drivers depend on this, it would be good to get this merged although it's a bit late for the v4.1 merge window. Note that as the device entries in the .dts files are moved around, this is based on earlier non-urgent fixes to avoid a non-trivial merge conflict. * tag 'omap-for-v4.1/prcm-dts' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: (44 commits) ARM: OMAP4+: control: add support for initializing control module via DT ARM: dts: dra7: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: dts: omap5: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: OMAP4+: control: remove support for legacy pad read/write ARM: OMAP4: display: convert display to use syscon for dsi muxing ARM: dts: omap4: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: dts: am4372: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: dts: am43xx-epos-evm: fix pinmux node layout ARM: dts: am33xx: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: dts: omap3: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: dts: omap24xx: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module support ARM: OMAP2+: control: add syscon support for register accesses ARM: OMAP2+: id: cache omap_type value ARM: OMAP2+: control: remove API for getting control module base address ARM: OMAP2+: clock: add low-level support for regmap ARM: OMAP4+: PRM: get rid of cpu_is_omap44xx calls from interrupt init ARM: OMAP4+: PRM: setup prm_features from the PRM init time flags ARM: OMAP2+: CM: move SoC specific init calls within a generic API ARM: OMAP4+: PRM: determine prm_device_inst based on DT compatibility ARM: OMAP2+: PRM: move SoC specific init calls within a generic API ...
2015-03-31ARM: dts: omap3: add minimal l4 bus layout with control module supportTero Kristo
This patch creates an l4_core interconnect for OMAP3, and moves some of the generic peripherals under it. System control module nodes are moved under this new interconnect also, and the SCM clock layout is changed to use the renamed SCM node as the clock provider. 2015-03-16ARM: dts: omap3: Add missing dmas for cryptoPali Rohár
This patch adds missing dma DTS definitions for omap aes and sham drivers. Without it kernel drivers do not work for device tree based booting while it works for legacy booting on general purpose SoCs. Note that further changes are still needed for high secure SoCs. But since that never worked in legacy boot mode either, those will be sent separately. 2014-11-05ARM: OMAP3: Fix errors for omap_l3_smx when booted with device treeTony Lindgren
When booting omap3 in device tree mode, we're currently getting the following errors: omap_l3_smx omap_l3_smx.0: couldn't request debug irq omap_l3_smx: probe of omap_l3_smx.0 failed with error -22 This is because we don't have handling in the driver for the compatible property and instead assume platform data being passed. Note that this binding is already documented, and implemented for the related omap_l3_noc driver for omap4 and later. Looks like the binding somehow never got never implemented for this omap_l3_smx driver though. Let's also remove __exit_p to allow binding and unbinding of the driver while at it.
