2024-03-05wifi: cw1200: restore endian swappingJohannes Berg
The code here looks well thought-out, so it seems likely that the byte-swaps are actually needed, due to SPI bus and device behaviour. Restore the byte-swapping, in a way that doesn't result in sparse warnings. 2024-02-05wifi: cw1200: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij
The CW1200 uses two GPIOs to control the powerup and reset pins, get these from GPIO descriptors instead of being passed as platform data from boardfiles. The RESET line will need to be marked as active low as we will let gpiolib handle the polarity inversion. The SDIO case is a bit special since the "card" need to be powered up before it gets detected on the SDIO bus and properly probed. Fix this by using board-specific GPIOs assigned to device "NULL". There are currently no in-tree users. Sparse warns: drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:83:17: got restricted __le16 [usertype] drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:148:17: warning: incorrect type in assignment (different base types) drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:148:17: expected unsigned short [addressable] [assigned] [usertype] regaddr drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:148:17: got restricted __le16 [usertype] These cpu_to_le16() calls are not really making any sense to me. On a big endian system we first convert regaddr from big to little using cpu_to_le16() but immediately after we convert them back to big endian? So just remove them. Compile tested only. 2023-03-11net: Replace all spi->chip_select and spi->cs_gpiod references with function ↵Amit Kumar Mahapatra
call Supporting multi-cs in spi drivers would require the chip_select & cs_gpiod members of struct spi_device to be an array. But changing the type of these members to array would break the spi driver functionality. To make the transition smoother introduced four new APIs to get/set the spi->chip_select & spi->cs_gpiod and replaced all spi->chip_select and spi->cs_gpiod references with get or set API calls. While adding multi-cs support in further patches the chip_select & cs_gpiod members of the spi_device structure would be converted to arrays & the "idx" parameter of the APIs would be used as array index i.e., spi->chip_select[idx] & spi->cs_gpiod[idx] respectively. 2022-02-09spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. 2017-06-28cw1200: add const to hwbus_ops structuresBhumika Goyal
Declare hwbus_ops structures as const as they are only passed as an argument to the function cw1200_core_probe. This argument is of type const. So, make these structures const. Signed-off-by: Bhumika Goyal <bhumirks@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2016-03-08wireless: cw1200: use __maybe_unused to hide pm functions_Arnd Bergmann
The cw1200 uses #ifdef to check for CONFIG_PM, but then uses SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS, which leaves the references out when CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is not defined, so we get a warning with PM=y && PM_SLEEP=n: drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:450:12: error: 'cw1200_spi_suspend' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function] This removes the incorrect #ifdef and instead uses a __maybe_unused annotation to let the compiler know it can silently drop the function definition. For the DEV_PM_OPS definition, we can use an IS_ENABLED() check to avoid defining the structure when CONFIG_PM is not set without the #ifdef.
